H-Net Kick-off Meeting
Not exactly the boondocks, but far removed from any of the usual distractions that the Netherlands and especially Amsterdam offer, the H-Net kick-off meeting was held in Leusden, a small town in the woods some 20 kilometers to the north-east of Utrecht. The rural location inspired the participants to roll up their sleeves and together kick-off the H-Net project.
The H-Net project is a network of organizations of hematology, education and IT that aims to promote the harmonization of training in hematology in Europe. In October, 2008, it was awarded a grant of € 600.000 by the European Commission. The main purpose of the H-Net kick-off meeting was to divide the tasks and responsibilities among the partners of the project. Now that this has been achieved, the H-Net project is in full swing.
